Seeing how families tick and get into their grooves is a wonderful thing.
Helena and Stevie had really found their groove when I visited them. Henry had been a little champ since his arrival, and this wee family were as comfortable and beautiful as can be. Including Robbie, their adorable puppy. When I had first met Robbie, a few months prior, he was all licks, jumps, friendly nips and deep sniffs. But when I entered their home on this beautiful Summer's morning it was obvious that he had mellowed to suit the slow rhythm of a newborn. He was now the big brother. It really is amazing how some animals instinctively know when they are part of a family unit.
There was a very real calmness in their home. A happy, content, calmness of a family loving what life has brought them.
Thank you Helena and Stevie for having me document this very special time in your lives.
These are beautiful. I can imagine how small the space must have been you were working with and you've done a brilliant job of capturing a new baby at home.
